Repair Your Spouse’s Credit

These days it is not uncommon to see a couple in which one partner has had a lot of debt and maybe not so great credit, and the other partner has pretty good credit. This could be a problem if you have joint bank accounts for paying household expenses, or maybe even when it comes to applying for mortgages or loans together.

Did you know that you can actually repair your spouse’s credit? It’s possible, by issuing the partner a supplementary credit card from the account of the spouse with the better credit. As card payments get made, this information is reported to both partners’ credit history. This can create a positive paper trail for a partner who needs to improve their credit.
